11th Annual Turkey Bowl

Turkey Bowl 2009 was our 11th Annual Thanksgiving fundraiser. We collected food and accepted donations for the West Seattle Food Bank. Click here to learn more about this event.

Beer Church Golf Tournament

Held on August, 16th 2009, our first-ever golf event was a smashing success. The weather was perfect and approximately 90 golfers teed up for a good cause - Whisker City. Following the golf, we had a banquet at Jersey's Great Food and Spirits in Shoreline. In the end we netted $3,605 for the cause. That will buy a lot of kitty litter, not to mention all the other important things that Whisker City spends money on when caring for our less-fortunate feline friends.

The winners:
Longest drive for men - Tom Burns
Longest drive for women - Shannon Burns
Straightest drive for men - Doub O'Dell
Straightest drive for women - Shannon Burns
Closest to the Pin for men - John Sheen (8' 1")
Closest to the Pin for women - Susie Langford (24')

The winning teams were:
1st - Mills, Espe, Sheen, Turner (13 under par)
2nd - Panningsoro, McDonald, Harlow, Compton (12 under par)
3rd - Burns, Burns, Jokela, Besalo (11 under par)

Here is a slide show with some pictures from the event. (click on an image to view that individual image)

Our Very Most Successful Event

Beer Church raised over $6,000 at Blarney Bowl 2008. We had a great time and one luck team got to take home a trophy. Click here to read all about it.

Our 2nd Most Successful Event

frontpageblarney.jpgSt. Patrick's Day 2007 - Beer Church Blarney Bowl. This event earned nearly $5000 for Whisker City - a local charity organization. We owe a great deal of thanks to the Seattle Seahawks for sending Sean Locklear and Marcus Tubbs out to sign autographs. And of course we owe a big thank you to our many supporters who all helped make this event so wonderful.

Past Beer Church Events

We started in Seattle in 1998, when we had our first charity benefit party for the American Lung Association - a simple backyard BBQ party with beer and food donated by local sponsors. It wasn't a complicated formula. Good people, good beer, good food, good times, and a good cause. When we discovered that we'd earned over $1,000 for charity, we began scratching our heads. We drank beer, we had fun, we earned money for charity. It was really that simple.

Since then we've expanded our horizons a bit. Bowling parties, keg tossing campouts, curling bonspeils, and even a beach party that was broadcast on The Food Network. Beyond that, Beer Church Rwanda is doing absolutely amazing and wonderful things in the name of beer drinkers everywhere. The basic formula remains the same: drink beer, have fun, do good.

We encourage people to follow our lead. Find a way to have fun and benefit a good cause. It's easier than you think. We can help. Get a group of friends together and start a local chapter. You can make new friends by starting a local chapter. We're here to help you establish local communities of beer drinking do-gooders.
